==== Welcome to another edition of everyone's favorite collection of goosebump-macabre shorts fans and audiences have come to known as the Creepshow gallery or horror stories in America! In this edition, we'll be exploring the strange consequence of a group of reckless wandering American college students who end up in a forest and park clearing with a small body of water containing a singular idyllic wooden raft which is surrounded by an unknown engulfing creature. This story is appropriately called The Raft. Enjoy! ![]() Randy, Deke, Rachel, and Laverne were happy-go-lucky American college students on spring-break vacation. They're driving aimlessly and smoking on the road and making wild jokes about their time of liberty. They're driving along and giggling and realized they've come upon a park-forest clearing, prompting them to park and swim onto the isolated idyllic wooden raft in the small lake in the center of the forest-park clearing. What will ensue for these hapless youths this fine spring afternoon? ![]() Our four hapless young Americans somehow make it out to the wooden raft despite the shiveringly surprising cold lake. They climbed onto the raft and hugged each other to get warm after their shockingly cold swim. The four teens are then startled, but by what? They notice a very strange creature-like water-swimming or dwelling blob-like algae creature or mass swimming around their raft as if it's waiting for them to make some kind of stupid decision! ![]() The creature seems to have no place in that idyllic lake at the center of that forest-park clearing. The four teens remain on their wooden raft, confident that the creature in the water, the large mass blob-like 'thing' of sorts, will just swim away if they wait it out. So, they decide to test the creature's patience by mocking it while they stand on their safe raft. The creature continues to stare at them while swimming around the raft like a massive entity. ![]() Finally, Rachel gives in to her lack of patience and decides to crouch down on her safe wooden raft and try to graze and pet the floating blob creature in the lake. The black colored blob creature 'mass' then shirks and lets out a tentacle of ooze and grabs the poor Rachel by the arms and pulls her into the lake. Within 5 horrifying minutes, the creature in the water has engulfed Rachel's reckless spirit, as she called out to her friends, screaming that the ooze of the creature is not only suffocating, but very painful! ![]() Deke is horrified and demands that the survivors, he, Laverne, and Randy try to swim out to their parked car by the edge of the lake in that forest-park clearing and outswim the blob creature in the water. Randy and Laverne shrewdly recommend they continue to try to outlast the creature by simply waiting for it to leave. However, Deke, still horrified by Rachel's demise, decides it's just wiser to escape. Just then, as Deke is about to jump off the raft, the blob creature oozes out a tentacle-arm through one of the wooden raft panel slits and grabs Deke by the hips, contorting him with incredible strength while twisting his body down through the broken raft, soon engulfing him completely. Deke is the 2nd victim. ![]() Randy and Laverne then spend the night just huddled and waiting for the creature to leave as they wait on that holy wooden raft in that lake at the center of that now eerie forest-park clearing. When they awake, Randy starts kissing Laverne, thinking romance will shed some odd heavenly light. However, as he's kissing her, the two survivors realize the blob creature has eeked more ooze through another one of the wooden raft panel slits and has latched onto Laverne's helpless face. Within 5 minutes, the creature has engulfed Laverne and taken its 3rd victim! Randy is now completely desperate and decided to just jump off the raft and outswim the creature who's chasing him in the water! ![]() Randy survives and goes home and blogs on the Internet in a strange horror-comics story in the Creepshow fan forum that he and his friends managed to survive a dark engagement with a cryptic and disgusting blob creature 'mass' hiding in a lake at the center of a strange forest-park clearing containing an isolated idyllic wooden raft. In the story, Randy mentions that one might consider worshiping Satan or the Dark Lord if he/she is to survive an engagement with a mystical entity with malice such as the unnamed water-creature in that forest-park. This was an experience for a bizarre campfire and requires an Occult healing perhaps. ![]() Randy kept a small voodoo doll named Joby in his collection at home following that eerie incident in that forest-park clearing by the lake during their now tragic American spring-break vacation trip. Randy would whisper to his voodoo-doll Joby, "They should've included a warning-sign by that lake that reads, 'DO NOT SWIM HERE'!" ![]() Is Randy's story an isolated incident of American horror? What do you think, readers? Will we find yet another attractive and adventurous American group of college students on spring vacation seeking to make yet another foray into that certainly forbidden forest-park clearing with that isolated idyllic wooden raft in the lake? Maybe spring break in future years shall be more...divine. ![]() Well, thanks for reading this invitation into the world of unknowingly dark presences and encounters, and perhaps what you will take away is the simple spiritual notion that human survival can be a thing of great dance.
