The City of Angels ("LA") was dark indeed because of a new wave of crime in the 21st Century. This involved a nefarious and hideous underground 'axe-club' led by a stalking psycho who wears a pantyhose-mask, a man named Leatherface. This sort of urban darkness requires a different brand of hero. Who'll save our fair if troubled prophetic City of Angels (USA)?

LAPD: We've employed the best field 'soldiers' with advanced vehicles and are simply confounded!

Meanwhile, IBM makes an interesting LA investment in commercial property, seeking to change the ambitious skyline of the City of Angels. LA is to be a future city of great computing promise and profit-value! This however doesn't deter Leatherface's gang of axe-killers from spreading their new brand of darkness. Capitalism edges on, however!

A masked thief decides to take to the streets of LA and attack the Leatherface 'clan' by hitting a bank in which it's rumored the gang stores their 'blood diamonds' from South Africa. This masked thief has good info that the members of the axe-club are yuppies and working people who're bored with regular profits and seek the lust of blood. Our masked thief seeks to therefore ruin the reputation and mystique of Leatherface with this blood diamond heist in the City of Angels!

SPARROW: I consider myself a supreme-thief, and I'll walk into the bank in the City of Angels claiming to be a terrorist!

Sparrow, our thief-vigilante, steals $20 million worth of blood-diamonds from the LA bank and then sends a note to the Times which reads, "The Leatherface axe-club is now dumb-founded in its approach to using commercial highways to subdue continental gem market sanity, because I've struck its safe-box stores of its corrupted gems with a sneaky message about the strange bedfellows created by new age anti-American terrorism...and bloody murder."

Sparrow became an LA celebrity. He drove around in a black Audi with tinted windows, so no one'd photo him. Meanwhile, people were making sardonic remarks about the dark grip of the hand of Leatherface because of this loss in blood diamond aura. Sparrow had done it! He was now a knight-rider of LA heroism.

An obviously gorgeous LA news-TV personality who's stalked by the Leatherface gang publicly makes a message on the Internet which reads, "I'll marry this Sparrow if we ever find out who the hell he really is!"

SPARROW: I'll be carrying around a silencer-gun now, sometimes loaded with expanding bullets, to fend off Leatherface.

Sparrow's traded his blood diamonds for money for LA charities, and it seems the people of the USA are finally becoming sanitized.
