Deadpool: Man with the Mirror-CubeA Story by Abishai100An eccentric man living in a forest mansion, likened to Ichabod Crane himself, is haunted suddenly by a demon who may be an incarnation of the Headless Horseman!
One quick pseudo-horror short, inspired by my love of Washington Irving and Deadpool comics! Enjoy (and thanks so much for reading all these shorts over the years!),

==== Isaac lived alone in a large mansion in the forest of New Jersey (USA). He lived like a hermit and read his Hans Christian Andersen storybooks and Deadpool comics in peace. He liked to dress up in masks and head-gear and costumes and liked dancing around in his mansion, pretending he was actually a character from an Andersen story or Deadpool himself! Isaac considered himself a real modern mystic, but the people in his town considered him a real modern eccentric, perhaps the real-life modern rendition of Ichabod Crane. Isaac, however, considered himself simply a man of bizarre imagination! The mansion Isaac lived in was one he inherited from a wealthy benefactor. He'd attended the Ivy League and was part of a fraternity and secret society and was given this mansion for his special place in the benefactor's intellectual property estate. Isaac liked listening to classical music and painted horses and hung the paintings all over his mansion. In his spare time, he watched silent films about gypsies and ballet dancers. He grew rather comfortable in that old creepy but impressive forest mansion! Isaac's strangest hobby was his mirror-cube. It was a perfect cube, a toy that was a mirror-on-all-sides. Isaac ('Ichabod Crane') would stare into his face in the various edges of the mirror-cube toy to dream he was some kind of multi-faced stranger or wanderer or even philosopher. However, what he's really doing is thinking of himself in his head-gears and costumes as a reflective mansion man of pure isolation. It's a wonder Isaac ('Ichabod Crane') wasn't the subject himself of a psychiatric film or bizarre comedy! However, Isaac's strange reputation grew in the town and soon a strange psychopath emerged to make his life a living hell. This psycho was donned in a hockey-mask and wielded a buzzing weapon, believing Isaac ('Ichabod Crane') was a mirror-cube toy man deserving of social punishment. This psychopath may well have been the Headless Horseman himself, from old lore, here in this New Jersey area to extract some kind of dirt out of our goodly if depressing Isaac ('Ichabod Crane')! When this 'Headless Horseman' broke into the forest mansion of Isaac ('Ichabod Crane') late one night, he found the eccentric individual playing with his mirror-cube toy and dressed in one of his peculiar head-gear/costumes and dancing with his toy. The Headlesss Horseman demanded to know why Ichabod Crane was so immersed in this bizarre ritual, and the shocked Ichabod pointed quickly to a colored photograph of a gorgeous young woman, a photo recently mounted above his fireplace mantle. Ichabod yelped and told this Headlesss Horseman that the photo-woman reminded him of the pure attainability of self-derived religious praise of human beauty. The Headless Horseman put down his buzzing weapon, realizing that this Ichabod Crane was nothing more than a simply forest mansion man of pure dance! HEADLESS HORSEMAN: Your antics frighten your townsfolk, Ichabod. ICHABOD: I mean no harm and only keep to my own person, dreaded Horseman! HEADLESS HORSEMAN: Perhaps someday you'll share your insights on isolation with others. ICHABOD: Perhaps some secrets are better left as dart-mouths. HEADLESS HORSEMAN: Perhaps; farewell, fortunate man. ICHABOD: Farewell! ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
