The Thing (1982)A Story by Abishai100A group of arctic scientists, 6 women and 1 man, are sent with soldier-guards to study an intelligent alien substance, growing in size, and becoming a deformed thing!
Here's a sci-fi fanfiction inspired by my favorite sci-fi horror film, The Thing, but this one features a female-centric character-cast. so I hope you like it! Thanks for reading (signing off again),

==== On the North Pole, a science firm called the American Company (AC) erected a large research complex to study a discovered alien substance dug up and found in an underground UFO in the snow. The alien substance was a black gooey thing of about a 5 inch radial size and circular in shape and intentional in motion and hence intelligent, but it was growing in size steadily. The AC scientists, 5 women and 1 man, were accomanpied by a group of soldiers with flame-throwers. The science complex in the arctic Pole was quite impressive. SCIENTIST #1 (Sharon Stone): This CalTech researcher wants to know if the alien thing can regenerate! SCIENTIST #2 (Mila Kunis): This Duke researcher wants to know if the alien thing has eyes or a divided brain. SCIENTIST #3 (Stana Katic): This Harvard researcher wants to know if the alien thing can talk! SCIENTIST #4 (Georgina Cates): This liberal Purdue scientist wants to know if the alien thing has growing tentacles. SCIENTIST #5 (Laura Dern): This Miami scientist just wants to know if the alien thing implodes or explodes. SCIENTIST #6 (Isaac Satan): This Dartmouth researcher wants to know if the alien thing has relatives or cousins. The AC science building in one of the areas of the Pole research complex erected for the study of the alien thing was really something! All the scientists, from Stone to Satan, remarked on its impressive aspects. There was ample resources for control and protection and study of the alien thing. The guards were meanwhile constantly on watch with flame-throwers! The AC building was the best achievement in science architecture in the Pole. The scientists liked to drink together t night and formed a girl clique and rarely invited their one male science peer, Isaac of Dartmouth, to their night gatherings. However, during the daytime, the scientists worked in unison, uniformed together and sometimes working together in teams while being trained to shoot the alien thing by the soldier guards. It was a generally positive team atmosphere. STONE: I've designed this video-game alien thing engagement synthesis platform for virtual conditioning. KUNIS: Great, at least the guards will like this sort of thing! SATAN: I wonder if that alien thing just might develop into one of the hypothetical monsters in your video-game. STONE: We don't know, right? The AC complex was cold and unforgiving, and the 6 scientists (5 women, 1 man) were working together to determine if this growing intelligent alien thing threatened to seek to colonize or invade the biochemisty of organic life on Earth. The AC complex in the Pole was gloomy and foreboding, but the scientists and guards remained calm. Everything was for the moment convenient! One night, a piece of the alien thing broke off the main radial area while Dr. Satan was studying, and it grew to immense size spontaneously and developed a humanoid head and tentacles. Dr. Kunis stormed in with one of the guards and burned it to ashes with the flame-throwers. KUNIS: What the hell was that thing? SATAN: I'd imagine the alien's trying to escape and then invade Earth cells. KUNIS: Let's get outta here. SATAN: We need clearance from the American Company, of course. Meanwhile, Dr. Stone (Sharon) had to design a mock-up of what the alien thing might later sector off and then regenerate and develop into a new monstrosity, unlike the other odd one witnessed by Kunis and Satan. Stone designed a dragon-insect like creature which had the ability to shoot acidic saliva which created explosions on contact with any kind of surface, organic or inorganic. DR. SATAN (Diary Entry): After two years of study of this alien thing, I'm confident humanity needs a heroic water-man. What was Dr. Isaac Satan implying with his inference to a heroic 'water-man' in engagement with the discovered odd alien thing in the snowy arctic Pole? Would this alien thing seek to hybridize with Earth cells or invade human bodies? Would it spontaneouly regenerate or cause acidic degradation or catalytic explosions? Was it malicious in intent? The AC Pole scientists remained confident regardless of the outcome that their endeavor with this alien 'thing' would at least create some consciousness regarding planetary humility. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
