Thief & Bad-EyesA Story by Abishai100A strange street-thief seeks to transform his life but the winds of fate may offer him a dark obstacle simply unbreakable.
I returned for one quick and fun heist vignette about the strange appeal of crime-fables in American storytelling and why we celebrate dystopian movies such as The Boondock Saints! Thanks for reading (and enjoy!),

==== Alas decided to steal the newly minted gold coins from Fort Knox in the USA. This was a highly secured building, but there was one weakness. During the lunch-hour break, a food truck would arrive during which time the computer security systems wouldn't be monitored regularly. Alas decided to sneak in after hijacking one of these Fort Knox food trucks and stole the $2 million newly minted gold coins from the closet room. The next day, millions of people on Facecbook blogged about this unusual Fort Knox crime on their computers and laptops. Alas then traveled to the snowy city of Denver (Colorado) where he began using the traded money he obtained in the underground market for the Knox gold-coins to purchase rare baseball cards from a very iconic baseball store in the heart of the city. He purchased a rare Ricky Henderson, Nolan Ryan, and Kirby Puckett card. Alas then posted photos of these new cards on his private weblog, seeking attractive young women in Denver who're baseball fans. ALAS: I've been a thief my whole life, but I'm turning a new leaf and seeking a normal path to dreams. Alas had robbed over 30 banks across the USA in just 3 short years after graduating from Dartmouth College. He'd traveled around the world after graduating before deciding to become a professional thief. He'd decided this after reading Oliver Twist in college and falling in love with the character Artful Dodger, a wily and self-controlled calm street pickpocket. One of the banks Alas robbed was an LA bank in which he brought a toy water-rifle and indicated to the bank reps and guards the rifle was filled with corrosive HCL acid and he'd demanded to be escorted to the safe-box room where he'd procure the $3 million Antwerp diamonds belonging to the corrupt but famous Dutch businessman Gunnar Penn. Alas felt his life was blithe and carefree. Now, he's ready to meet a beautiful young woman online to court and perhaps even marry and settle down with in the fair US city of Denver (Colorado). Alas even thinks he's met this great young woman. However, a hideously evil monkey-wrench is thrown into Alas' new life equation when he discovers that a phantom entity, a spirit of a deformed and monstrous leviathan-like gargoyle uniformed or rather costumed as a 'maniac cop' is chasing and stalking the daring if headstrong Alas, the master-thief and protagonist in our strange American tale. This 'maniac cop' gargoyle wants to destroy Alas' dream of leaving a life of street-thievery behind to settle down with a damsel and begin a happy married life of law-abiding faith. MANIAC COP: I'll catch this demon street guy Alas, if it's the last thing I do on Earth from hell, and I'll get those Knox coins! Of course, we all want Alas to succeed in his very magical if tragically criminal American mission and settle down with this fair young American woman he's met online who shares his passion for baseball --- Elena Kirkwood. Alas met her while chatting online and showing her his private weblog which contains information about his new baseball collector's hobby and his beautiful cards. Alas wants to marry Elena now, but this 'maniac cop' gargoyle seeks to destroy Alas' perfect vision of a life lived as Artful Dodger but sought to rewind into balanced heaven. Crime never pays, and if you feel empathy for our strange anti-hero Alas, you might consider why his offbeat decision to turn to a life of street-crime would prevent him from turning to settle into a spiritual life of humbled peace and sanity. He has this 'maniac cop' gargoyle chasing him now in Denver (Colorado). Will Alas our master-thief become a statistic of bad decisions or a miraculous exception of self-made escape? Alas is no Indiana Jones, but how will the American angels and devils judge him in the end? ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
