Batman/Batgirl: Scarecrow

The heroic crusaders in Chicago, Batman and Batgirl, must deal with a real dark-man in their dark city, a messenger of deep criminal insanity!

A nerdy university professor named Isaac was actually the masked vigilante in Chicago named Batman by night. Isaac studied mob psychology and applied theories of social control and deviance as they applied to criminal insanity in the modern American city. He'd become the master analyst of deviant behaviors.

Isaac's university assisant professor Alexa was also interested in social psychology and urban civics. She was secretly Batman's ally, masked of course, named Batgirl. Batman and Batgirl costumed as night-creatures, bat-humanoids, to tackle Chicago's criminally insane element as costumed crusaders. They wanted the press to label them as 'priests' of the darkness! Alexa was very concerned about Chicago's overall sense of urban anarchy.

Batman and Batgirl swept through the nights of Chicago as the perfect duo of eccentric masked criminal insanity fighters, dealing with Chicago's very worst villains, such as Mario Falconi, a mafia boss who employed mad scientists. Batman and Batgirl had become the answer to Chicago's problem of uncontrolled masked mayhem. Batman/Batgirl used weapons like rope-guns, tranquilizer-darts, and foot-tripping marbles to unnerve dark maniacs wandering around attempting to make Chicago the lair for undesirable demons.

BATMAN: You can't expect to use toxins to turn Chicago into a toilet.
BATGIRL: This city will be defended from the darkness of poison.
SCARECROW: I don't use poison...only...'medicine'...for Chicago.
BATMAN: You're no doctor; you're a mad terrorist!
BATGIRL: We'll find a way to expose your urban deformity, Scarecrow.
SCARECROW: Keep dreaming, you two.
BATMAN: We will, and we won't fail.
BATGIRL: Evil never prevails over duty.
SCARECROW: We'll see.

Chicago's main city bridge at night was opening-and-closing on schedule when Batman/Batgirl were riding across on their Honda bikes. That's when the Scarecrow and his ghouls swept in on hang-gliders, throwing smoke-bombs that induced immediate unconsciousness. It was summer, and people were driving with their windows open, and Batman/Batgirl had to use special UV-light guns to help the traffic through to help the people get through the smoke of sleeping-death.

Afterwards, Scarecrow sent Batman/Batgirl a video of he and his ghouls stealing rare and valuable black diamonds from a very expensive Chicago jewelry factory, indicating that his 'godly black diamonds' were fortune symbols of modern urban piracy. Batman/Batgirl were confident now that Scarecrow was the ultimate messenger of new age social depression.
