This is a movie fan-fiction inspired by George Lucas' Willow, which I wanted to offer up before signing off, to help us feel a little bit more cheerful during this Coronavirus tribulation. Thanks so much,

A great schism took place on Earth millennia after the Coronavirus of the 21st Century. This schism involved the human descendants of early 21st Century civilization on Earth inheriting a special magical destiny involving a climactic struggle between the forces of light and darkness. These two forces were arrayed as two mighty kingdoms called Gog and Magog. Gog was a kingdom of romance and Christian sentiment.

Magog was a foreboding kingdom of warlords and hellfire. It was marshaled by a powerful warlock named Hector. Hector wanted to amass an army so great that the Earth itself would shudder. Hector's army was led by a skull-helmet swordsman and pirate named Kael. This was a mighty kingdom indeed, and if Gog would stand against Magog, it would need to find ways to challenge the pure might of hellfire.

The king and queen of Gog recruited a mighty wandering mercenary-swordsman named Martigan who traveled from afar in search of a worthy quest. Martigan realized that Gog needed his help to hold back the forces of Magog and the terrifying army of Kael who served the leader Hector. Gog was filled with damsels and princesses and sorceresses and priestesses, while Magog was comprised of seductive witches and sirens and fairy-queens and sinister female bards. Martigan resolved to help the kingdom of Gog dismantle the indomitable will of Magog. Martigan surveyed the majesty of Gog on horseback one early morning.

One of the castles of Magog was a behemoth structure known as Galadorn. This castle was ruled by the evil sorceress-queen Malificent who was descended from English monarchy but was quite evil. Malificent heard of the swordsmanship of Martigan and discovered the mercenary-warrior was now allied to the kingdom of Gog and might challenge the fighting of Hector's trusted demonic warrior Kael. Malificient tried to hold back the army marshaled by Martigan who attempted to storm it one day for the sake of Gog.

Martigan managed to cut Malificient's dominion in half but had to retreat when Kael brought in reinforcements on horseback. Martigan reported to the king and queen of Gog that the dominion of Magog could indeed be humbled but may have to simply be stormed back instead of completely destroyed. Such a destruction would require a pure erasure of infinite darkness which would basically be inconceivable. The Gog elders told Martigan to find the wizard Merlin and inquire about the necessary foresight to fight Kael and Hector. Martigan rode out and found the Scarecrow-like Merlin who explained that the real darkness and light on Earth in these new times involved a sensitive perception of the stark reality of a bifurcated flesh. This bifurcation would result in a complete divergence of the spirit itself. Martigan knew Merlin spoke the truth.

Martigan went to one of Hector's castles and stormed it with an army of Gog and kidnapped the evil princess from the castle along with her dwarf-servant and her child from her previous marriage. The princess Martigan kidnapped was a gorgeous redheaded Irish-descended woman named Sorsha whom Martigan started to fall in love with, and so he convinced her to join him on his newfound spiritual crusade to drive back the dark force of Magog and humble the terrifying warrior Kael. Sorsha decided she'd become Martigan's wife.

Martigan and Kael faced each other in a terrible snowy battlefield one early morning in autumn near Newfoundland. This engagement saw the two mighty armies of Gog and Magog clash in a climactic and symbolic fight. Martigan was prepared and carried his trusted sword Excalibur. Kael remained unimpressed and was donning his signature skeleton helmet and stared at Martigan with the intention to frighten him into submission. This was a battle between light and darkness on Earth.

As Kael and Martigan faced each other across a rainy battlefield on that symbolic day during the climactic fight between Gog and Magog, both warriors understood the important fact that this might be their final confrontation. One might stand, while the other might fall forever. Martigan didn't want to underestimate Kael and decided that he'd have to make swift advances and use criss-cross strikes with great speed and ultimately detangle Kael's use of his dizzying broadsword to reach the evil warlord's head-and-shoulders and just decapitate the ugly devil. That's just what happened. It was incredible.

Martigan and Gog captured the victory flag. The king and queen of Gog were so pleased. To celebrate that day, there was a great children's festival at the castle of Gog involving a parade of youngsters making portraits of the harvest, with images of child-faces in the ground being cultivated by daydreaming farmers. This was the artwork of this new era, and now that Magog was subdued back to its edges of dark frontiers thanks to the mighty fighting of Martigan and the army of Gog, the fear of the terrifying Kael and his dragon-like master Hector would not overshadow the intention of Gog to celebrate the simple joys of human diction.

There was once a time on Earth when networks and grids created by computers and the Internet had facilitated great imaginations about the efficiency of digital art and commerce. This was swept away by years of nuclear wars and in its place rose mighty and ominous kingdoms of sorcery and magic. This was the time of Gog and Magog, but the foregone era of Apple computers and NASDAQ would not be considered triumphs in vain, especially since the triumph of Martigan and the defeat of Kael represented an Earthly daydream about basic social rice.

Perhaps the symbolic comic book artworks of the 20th and 21st Century on Earth and especially in the USA would be canonized by archaeologists as symbolic representations of a human perception of the eternal struggle between light and darkness or between good and evil. These colorful renditions of climactic fights between demonic deities and angelic archangels would resurface perhaps in new forms on Earth to remind humanity of the complete value of physical deformation. After all, the purpose of art was to recast a perception of surreal deeds.

MARTIGAN: I believe our triumph will be hailed as an important testament to humanity's basic love of liberty. I'm eager to start a life of peace and love in the distinguished kingdom of Gog.
