Neo/Hammond

Neo/Hammond

A Story by Abishai100
"

Neo and Hammond square off in a quarantine-time rhetoric contest over the design and drama of idealism in a time of great deeds.

"
Here's a fun comic book stylized quarantine-consciousness vignette about new age dioramas and references the two comics-oriented folk-avatars Neo (agent of democracy!) Hector Hammond (agent of diction!). Thanks so much for reading all my diaries and please stay safe my friends (signing off finally),

Neo, the complete Internet genius, was creating quarantine-time blogs in 2020 in America. He was a radical talking about creative resource distribution during the Coronavirus tribulation, which drew the attention of some anti-American terrorists and casted Neo as a dangerous media figure by the NSA/CIA.

All Neo cared about though was talking about the danger of a modern leviathan, a beast of chaos, in a time of great traffic unpredictability and globalized capitalism. He didn't side with terrorists. Neo just wanted to talk about the abyss of communications hysteria and political subversion and super-viruses in a time of commercial uncertainty. Neo was just a real-life sea-captain from a Melville story.

Neo kept a few friends whom he kept connected in his quarantine in-network in 2020. These allies created a democratic web-axis during the Coronavirus quarantine and facilitated liberal dialogue that would be difficult for anti-American terrorists to completely corrupt. Neo and his friends were the vanguard of American neo-liberalism.

Neo helped his dear mother design and sell sarees online, which Neo marketed on blogs by creating computer-generated mannequins and dolls outfitted by the neo-classical sarees his mother designed and then had handmade in India and shipped to the USA. Neo tried to make these saree models a sign of commercial sanity in a time of globalized quarantine and confined business. He was trying to be Lee Iacocca online really.

Neo wanted to use his mother's saree models and marketing to counter the negative stereotype that American Internet imagery was all spam and lust and very little about culture and couture. He therefore took images of Victoria's Secret lingerie models dressed in ethnic costumes to compare to his mother's saree mannequins/models to address the modern quarantine-time problem of Internet-stereotyped consumerism vanities.

However, Neo had a real adversary and rival online in the form of the diabolical and frustrated anti-bureaucrat Hector Hammond. Dismissed from Harvard, Hammond wanted to use American computer networks to talk about the liberal use of slander and terrorism rhetoric to counter the notion that simple democratic dialogue would solve the enduring problem of anti-capitalism angst during the Coronavirus quarantine tribulation. Hammond was a real Devil's Advocate and always seemed to have a band-aid on his forehead/temple, as if he was constantly in some kind of hustle or scrape with the law or with other civil servants or pedestrians. He was a real eccentric.

Hammond talked about the liberal use of online money to facilitate the continuing flow of goods and politics during the globalized Coronavirus quarantine. Hammond used Trump-dollars to talk about anti-American terrorism and underground markets designed to create alternative methods of capitalism functionality, which is why he was rumored to be assisting IRA sympathizer groups attempting to link up with Sinn Fein or supply hacker information to radicals in Belfast during the quarantine. Hammond was therefore a financed and dangerous individual and the diametric opposite of the destiny-poetic Neo.

Hammond's girlfriend was a gorgeous NYC lawyer named Harley who was working on a multi-national file involving the exchange of organic goods and supplies between Europe and America during the quarantine. Hammond's plan was to make America and Europe the center of the commercial trafficked world during the quarantine tribulation and secure cyber-networks in these two areas to safeguard flows from any threats by undesirable terrorism. Hammond's lawyer gal Harley was therefore his special conspiracy quill and confidante.

Who would win this contest of intellect and foresight during the Coronavirus quarantine tribulation? Would it be our charming young man Neo, an advocate of new age commercial networking and pluralistic rhetoric? Would it be the calculated Hector Hammond, a mad scientist of avant-garde radical conservatism in the 21st Century? We know from various neo-scifi films and stories that the new kind of imagination in the globalized world was one geared towards pure fantasy and adventure, so would Neo or Hammond prevail in this atmosphere of diagonal thinking?

Many young people favored Neo's brand of intellectualism and forward thinking, since it catered to their sense of network themed optimism in a time of democratic urgency --- the time of the great Coronavirus quarantine!

However, the more conservative crowd tended to lean towards the views of the mad scientist Hammond who seemed to offer the modern quarantined world a sense of complete skepticism towards standard idealistic views about dogma.

You might simply label Neo a hippie and Hammond a mad scientist, but in fact, there are many crossovers and intersections. Both Neo and Hammond share a weak spot for the beauty of women, and both like the idea of inventive democracy. This was after all a time of great American lyricism, so the real victor would be the one who would commandeer the forces of pure rice!

The White House seemed to favor whoever would ensure the reliable flow of commerce and traffic in the quarantine era and therefore stop the threat of anti-capitalism terrorism. Terrorism and crime were the real threats to global stability and mental health in this time of plague and paranoia.

Ironically, both Neo and Hammond studied at Seton Hall and were fans of the Pirates basketball and soccer teams. They were both therefore neo-classical advocates of socialization rhetoric catering to new forms of youthful education. The Pirates had been an iconic college sports team representing pedestrian idealism, and Neo and Hammond applied their Seton Hall education to the advocacy of providence online!

Neo had one advantage over Hammond --- he was a math genius. Neo carried a fancy blue scientific-calculator which he considered his special symbolic toy-device of great modernism thinking. Neo wanted to apply his flair of mathematics to the evaluation of mass sociological trends and population dynamics so he could better gauge the needs of the people and the consumers and the general audience for the better flow of traffic design. Would Neo's sense of math diorama prevail over Hammond's sense of pure diction?

NEO: I understand the rhetoric of youthful passion.
HAMMOND: I can see the patterns of real-life logistics!
NEO: There's design in the contours of rhetoric in democracy.
HAMMOND: There will always be fixed points in the maps of capitalism!
NEO: People appreciate the flow of shapes and color.
HAMMOND: Humanity needs to embrace the logic of power!
NEO: Perhaps democracy is really about shared grammar.
HAMMOND: America will always be the Big Brother of drama.
