The Shield: Terrorism Design

The patriotic 'super-soldier' Captain America deals with the complexity of fighting terrorism when his incredible bulletproof shield accidentally becomes a 'weapon' of hell.

This is an anti-violence Captain America (Marvel Comics) fan-fiction, my last one I definitely promise, promoting more awareness about the real cost of terrorism --- attrition!

Steve Rogers was a mediocre U.S. army recruit who then volunteered to become the government's experimental serum-enhanced super-soldier named Captain America. Rogers (Captain America) accompanied the American military on successful raids of enemy strongholds during WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and the Gulf War. Always outfitted, Captain America wore a patriotic bulletproof red-white-and blue sturdy-material body-suit and helmet. He wielded a super-accurate silence-gun and carried an extremely impressive large metal shield, resistant to bullets or lasers or dents!

Captain America was very adept at hand-to-hand combat (fist-fighting) but was also an excellent sharp-shooter, hitting moving targets from long distances! He gained these skills and confidences from his strength-enhancing serum which also stopped his aging (keeping him at a vibrant young age of 26!) and complemented his powers with diligent training. Captain America had become the embodiment of strength and glory! However, his greatest boon was his incredible metal shield. Captain America's amazing resistant shield was something he could not only use to ward off enemy fire and weapons, but it was also a handy 'weapon' itself he could use to throw at enemy vehicles, shattering windshields!

This shield Captain America boasted my friends is the real subject of this patriotic story. One day, while on an army mission to infiltrate the terrorist fortress of the radical group ISIS, Captain America had to use his shield to dent the electric power boxes of the fortress/base! In the process, the shield accidentally decapitated an ISIS terrorist who tried to protect the fortress power boxes by jumping in the way of the super-shield Captain America hurled and firing a rifle toward the bulletproof shield and Captain America himself! The decapitation shocked Captain America who regretted the devastating impact on the victim-terrorist!

CAPTAIN AMERICA: "It is with honor that I relay this tale of terrorist fortress dismantling but also with humbled regret. During the mission, I managed to short-circuit the fortress electric power boxes by throwing my super-shield at it, but a terrorist jumped in front of the power boxes and attempted to deflect the thrown shield as well as shoot me with his target-rifle. Unfortunately, my super-shield is bulletproof and deflected the terrorist's shots and then hit the terrorist in the neck, decapitating him instantly. We're lucky to have destroyed that insidious terrorist fortress, but I grieve that my shield-throw resulted in such a terrible accidental death. Hopefully, with more tactical planning, future anti-terrorist missions will come with less violence! God bless America."
