Alas is the master of the bottomless pit and is creating a human text called The Hyperion which will elucidate the clear shapes of survival.

My name's Alas, and I'm a 21st Century knight and master of the bottomless pit of darkness. My responsibility is to create spheres of moral control amidst feelings of overwhelming threats to peace! I have to be sure to catalog the flaws of the human mind, so we can grip the density and immensity of the mystery of the great duality between good and evil.

Why were the killong-spree American bank robbing husband-and-wife Bonnie (Parker) and Clyde (Barrow) celebrated as messengers of social rebelliousness? Why was the American female serial-killer Aileen Wuornos considered a 'by-product' of modern civilization? Why did capitalism vanities lead to the Gulf War in the Middle East? Why did Stephen King write a horror-novel about a telepathic American high-school student named Carrie who opted to use her dark powers to kill students who were ostracizing her? Why was Osama bin Laden rendered an enemy of humanity?

Mankind's problems date back to the Garden of Eden, but in recent times, we've seen an effervescence of the 'imagined accessibility' of subconscious paranoia such as the fear of global terrorism. To control violence and pollution, we have to understand the shape of temperance! That's the only way to stand against the presence of the great dragon of chaos, lest we fall prey to the forces of insanity!

That's why I'm creating a compendium of Sin and Insanity called the Hyperion. This text will present darkness and uncertainty for what they really are --- branches of imagination. I require a community of education-minded allies. Won't you join me?
