An ethically torn Chinese fashion-model is threatened by a red dragon and must be rescued by a romantic time-traveling knight from ancient highways.

Sorry, I have to apologize for mandating myself to offer up one more Christmas-spirit tale, and this one is about dolls, living and toys. It was inspired by the film The Joy Luck Club.

Thanks for reading,

Sheila was from the old world China, not the modern one. Her parents were descended from royalty, and even though she was a US immigrant who grew to become a famous NYC fashion-model with killer looks, she held true to her Chinese beliefs and traditions, even after she converted to the Catholic faith. She kept paper Chinese dragons in her expensive Manhattan loft. She boasted about Chinese cuisine. She considered herself an authentic Chinese doll!

Sheila was being stalked by a large red dragon named Tiamat. This creature wanted to corrupt her and seduce her into betraying the old world ways of her native China and adopt the cosmopolitan vanities of New York! Tiamat was an agent of evil and wanted Sheila to feel boxed in by her steadfast admiration of ancient Chinese culture. Sheila was in mortal danger now, since Tiamat schemed to haunt her in her dreams and convince her to become a woman of Babylon.

Fortunately, there was a time-traveling Indian prince name Ken who would come to Sheila's aid. Ken was a wizard, amateur but sometimes talented. He would challenge the fierce Tiamat and argue that Sheila deserved the chance to embrace Chinese traditions while celebrating her career as a fashion-model in NYC. It was up to Ken to save Sheila, and because he was entranced by her stunning classic beauty, he intended to become her special secret knight of priority.

When Tiamat visited Sheila in her dream and showed her incredible blue flowers, convincing her the hue of sophisticated blue represented the cosmopolitan structure of modern-day New York. Tiamat told her to abandon her time-worn admiration of ancient China and its 'red roses' of sorrow and embrace the flowery of the new empire! However, Ken used his wizardry skills to jump inside Sheila's dream and showed her a field of ghostly red flowers, telling her that memories of China symbolized pure intuition before giving her a cool kiss. Sheila was convinced Tiamat was a liar.

When Sheila awoke from her dream, she wondered who the Indian prince/knight was who came to her moral rescue while she was being possibly corrupted in the mind by the red dragon Tiamat! Sheila decided to go to a toy-store in the city and purchased a Red Ninja Cobra (Hasbro) action-figure/doll and kept it on her window-sill, imagining the doll represented the honorable knight who counseled her in her strange dream. Sheila wondered if she'd ever meet a real-life knight like the one in her dream and kept her red-ninja doll to remember his description.

SHEILA: You returned to me in my dream, brave knight!
KEN: I'm actually a prince-wizard from ancient India.
SHEILA: You've traveled through time to come to my side?
KEN: I had to save you from Tiamat.
SHEILA: I remember.
KEN: I think I'm in love with you.
SHEILA: Since you're a time-traveler, you must have more power.
KEN: Yes, perhaps I can meet you somewhere in New York.
SHEILA: How will you do that, prince?
KEN: I'll find you at a café one day, and you'll recognize me!
SHEILA: Sounds spiritually coincidental.
KEN: I'll wear a red scarf, so you'll know it's me.
SHEILA: That will be a different coincidence indeed!
