The Hair Mermaid

The Hair Mermaid

A Story by Abishai100
"

A bizarre-looking slender mermaid a sailboat captain spots near the Virgin Islands appears to be made entirely of dark black hair, prompting the captain to wonder if the mermaid is a demon!

"
Alex took his new sailboat his dad bought him for his graduation gift on a little trip around the Virgin Islands while vacationing there in the summer with his girlfriend Clarice. Alex loved his new sailboat and named it the Mermaid and wanted to go on spirited sailing trips all around the waters, and the Virgin Islands seemed like and idyllic starting point. Alex sailed his boat the Mermaid for about three days around various scenic areas of the crystal waters surrounding the lovely Virgin Islands that summer before something truly strange happened to him! He sighted something (or someone!) he swore he'd never ever be able or even willing to forget.

At around sunset on the 2nd day of his little sailing-jaunt around the Virgin Islands, Alex spotted what seemed to be a very slender and lovely mermaid bathing herself with ocean water while resting on the rocks by the seashore! Alex couldn't be sure if the apparition/being was a mermaid, since it was sunset and the shining setting sun on the water was quite bright and producing stark shadows, and Alex wondered if the mermaid-looking creature he sighted was simply a tourist woman bathing herself in the sunset and appearing to be a mermaid-like lovely female! However, when Alex pulled out his binoculars and used them to get a closer look at the woman on the rocks, he immediately realized she was a mermaid.

This was no ordinary mermaid. Alex saw through his binoculars that the apparition/figure on the seashore rocks was indeed a slender and lovely-looking female figure and that the figure had the specific and certain shape and silhouette of a mermaid, and when the figure waved her fish-fin foot-end, Alex knew it was a mermaid! Alex decided to start steering his sailboat (the Mermaid) towards the mermaid in the sunset, but as he got closer and decided to use his binoculars again soon to get yet another look at the creature, he then noticed that this mermaid was comprised or composed entirely of dark black hair!

ALEX: What the heck are you?
MERMAID: Why, I'm a sea-mermaid, Alex!
ALEX: How'd you know my name, sweet lady?
MERMAID: You find me beautiful, yet I'm made entirely of black hair.
ALEX: I noticed your very strange composition and wanted to interrogate!
MERMAID: I'm from the deep abyss, and I'm not a 'standard' mermaid.
ALEX: Yes, the mermaids you read about from folklore are not made o hair.
MERMAID: You do find my figure and shapeliness feminine and alluring/beautiful?
ALEX: You have a distinctly attractive aura and beautiful personage, sweet lady.
MERMAID: I'm sure you're curious then about why I'm made entirely of black hair.
ALEX: Are you asexual?
MERMAID: No, a human man who is intimate with me becomes wrapped up in hair waves.
ALEX: That sounds very karmic or even tantric!
MERMAID: It's all very transcendental, and I do entreat human men (every now and then!).
ALEX: Well, I have a girlfriend, but I find you incredibly fascinating.
MERMAID: A man who becomes intimate with me must shave his head and never grow it back.
ALEX: So to love you requires a human man to never again grow hair on his head?
MERMAID: That's the compact, Alex.
ALEX: How'd you know my name, sweet lady, and what's your name?
MERMAID: I'm psychic; I have no name, so just call me the Mermaid.
ALEX: Are you a 'good witch' or a 'bad' witch?
MERMAID: That's a humorous question, Alex, but I have no relations with witchcraft.
ALEX: Are there evil renditions or versions of you, sweet Mermaid?
MERMAID: We hair-mermaids live peacefully and meditate and only contend with sea-lions.
ALEX: What the hell are sea-lions?
MERMAID: A sea-lion is a ravenous leviathan of the abyss who eats flesh.
ALEX: So these sea-lions leave you alone, since you're made entirely of hair!
MERMAID: You guessed it...
ALEX: Well, it's been a pleasure meeting you, and I'd like to know more of you.
MERMAID: Come again in one week, and shave your head, and bring flowers.
ALEX: I will be here in this same spot next week, and I anticipate something immortal.
MERMAID: I know you're worried I'm a demon, but I'm actually a muse.
ALEX: For some reason, sweet Mermaid, I trust you!
MERMAID: You should, for I will become your personal design.
