The Elfstones of Shannara (Fan-Fiction)

Two iconic celebrities go on a quest to discover the magic of a beautiful set of miniature items that could dispel demons; adapted from Shannara stories.

I've always been a huge fan of the Shannara series of fantasy-adventure brooks by American writer Terry Brooks and in particular the second novel The Elfstones of Shannara. The Shannara concept has now been adapted into a TV series, but the original books/stories are not to be missed and should be at least surveyed before people start enjoying the rather entertaining TV series. The Elfstones of Shannara is about the history of the Elves and the grandson of Shea (hero of the first novel in the trilogy!) named Wil who goes on a journey to recover the powerful Elfstones and protect the land from demons. This story has all the elements of humanist drama and Wanderlust sensibilities, which is why I chose to make a modernized fan-fiction using nifty celebrities (Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley and World Cup soccer star Pele!). I hope you enjoy this modern view on what comprises the fun and fantasy of mystical Wanderlust.

I'd love to see the Shannara stories adapted into a Hollywood (USA) film directed by Wes Andersen and starring Daisy Ridley or Tom Hardy!

Star Wars celebrity Daisy Ridley was in England shooting a film about an esoteric fable about Camelot involving the scandalous knight Lancelot apparently involved in some kind of Occult psychiatric teacher-student relationship with an English witch named Hazel. Daisy wanted to appreciate why this lesser-known story about Lancelot informed our historical understanding of what comprised the moral character of knights and kings from older times. While in England shooting the film (directed by Ang Lee!), she met the Brazilian soccer legend Pele who came on the film-set after being invited by the director. Daisy told Pele that she wanted to roam around England during and after the shooting of the film to explore some of the mythological folklore surrounding Camelot and Medieval England. Pele offered to travel with her, and she accepted his offer!

While traveling across England together, Daisy and Pele came across the strange story of an apparently magical set of glowing miniature plastic colored spools fitted with diamonds, made by a Medieval craftsman and handed down through generations and hidden in some abandoned castle. These magical spools were known as the Elf-Spools of Britain (ESB) and when held in the hand could strengthen the magic and spirit of the entire body and even enable some kind of levitation and incredible daydreaming. Daisy and Pele wanted to spend some time searching for these ESBs and perhaps hold them themselves to see if all the strange magical folklore of Medieval England had some real cerebral value. Daisy and Pele followed the advice of a fortune-teller in the English countryside and made their way into an abandoned castle where they were told the ESBs may be hidden.

Daisy and Pele wandered around the gray abandoned castled in the early hours of the morning and found a strange slab of stone covering an area of a floor in one of the rooms and moved the slab to discover there was a nifty little treasure-box laying there, so they opened the box! Inside the box, the two travelers discovered the precious and beautiful ESBs. Daisy and Pele resolved to carry the box with the ESBs to the fortune-teller who directed them to the castle to ask him for advice on what to do with the magical treasures. The fortune-teller advised that they discovered the ESBs for a special reason, perhaps because they were both popular celebrities, and should carry the ESBs to Stonehenge and try to hold them in their hands there to see if there was a perceptible magic that could potentially cast out modern-day demons that were sullying the imagination of mankind!

When Daisy and Pele arrived in Stonehenge, they realized they were followed there by a mysterious car with two mustached men. The two men walked up to the two traveling adventurous celebrities and demanded to know if they had indeed found the mystical ESBs, but Daisy/Pele explained they only searched for the precious items but didn't find anything. The two men then simply departed, and Daisy and Pele resolved to deliver the ESBs in the treasure-box back to the castle hiding-spot they found them in after they completed the mission the fortune-teller sent them on at the time. Daisy and Pele opened the box when no one was around and grabbed two each of the ESBs and held them in their hand and closed their eyes and began humming. Suddenly, the two celebrities thought they were being levitated by a strange magical force and started hallucinating seeing a giant white bird made completely of mist. The bird whispered to them, "The Elf-Spools of Britain will remind humans that magic is more powerful than scandal!"

Daisy and Pele realized they both witnessed a truly blessed event and promptly returned the ESBs in the treasure-box to the hiding-spot in the gray castle in the English countryside where they were discovered! Daisy and Pele realized that the ESBs were meant to create a special dominion on modern Earth and could potentially dispel the dark demons haunting the imaginations of civilization, convincing everyday people that the intrigue and allure of scandals and corruption could not overshadow the timeless appeal of the shining swords of peaceful Wanderlust, the natural human yearning to travel and see beautiful lands. Daisy and Pele realized they'd been through a really cool experience and were excited to see Ang Lee's film about Camelot scandal and intrigue released so they could reflect on how their adventure with the mysterious Elf-Spools of Britain, apparently holding the mystical power of immortality, could lift mankind's spirits to the level of true intelligence! It was a great adventure.
