SeaWorld: The Talking Shark!

SeaWorld: The Talking Shark!

A Story by Abishai100
"

Edgar goes to SeaWorld (San Diego) with his parents and meets a great white shark (named Jaws) in an exhibition area and discovers he's the only soul who knows Jaws can talk(!).

"
Edgar was so excited on that summer day in July to visit SeaWorld aquarium/park with his parents in San Diego(!). Edgar was 12 years-old and a big fan of Jacques Cousteau and oceanography books published by National Geographic. He'd read the book "Moby Dick" (Herman Melville) and seen the film "Jaws" (Steven Spielberg). Edgar was now excited to go to SeaWorld (San Diego) and see the new great white shark exhibit in the main aquarium area.

When Edgar and his parents arrived at SeaWorld on that warm sunny day in California, he noticed the nice groups of visitors to the nationally iconic aquarium/park and the well-dressed/uniformed SeaWorld attendees/staff and beautiful SeaWorld hostesses and sea-life caretakers. He noticed one beautiful attendee (a gorgeous brunette woman in glasses) feeding the eels in the large eel-tank.

Edgar's parents soon ushered their excited/energized son into the great white shark exhibition area. There was a crowd of about 50 people on-hand to see what the new SeaWorld great white shark named Jaws(!) would do in his giant swimming tank and what the male and female SeaWorld attendees would do with him. Jaws seemed excitable and was swimming in the circular patterns the well-trained attendees carefully directed him to do with large thin poles dipped into the small holes in Jaws' giant (public) swimming-tank.

Everyone cheered as Jaws swam and stopped and then started swimming again, they cheered again as Jaws chomped down on the large group of dead fish the SeaWorld attendees dumped into his tank. Edgar cheered as Jaws satiated his ravenous hunger for the fish-food(!). Edgar's parents took photos of various moments during the Jaws exhibition, and Edgar wondered if he'd get the chance to walk up to the great white shark tank and try to make 'closer contact' with Jaws.

Finally, after the exhibition ended, and the SeaWorld attendees waved the audience goodbye and promised everyone that Jaws would be well-cared for in their aquarium. Edgar told his parents to wait outside th exhibition area while he sneaked closer to Jaws' tank and waved at the shark (up-close-and-personal!) once before departing(!). His parents didn't think that would be such a terrible idea, so they followed the exiting traffic of the departing audience while Edgar made his way (stealthily) towards Jaws' giant swimming-tank.

Edgar got all the way up to Jaws' tank and put his face right up to the surface of the glass and the palms of his hands on the glass and began signaling to the iconic great white shark and telling him "goodbye." Just then the magnificent Jaws swam towards Edgar to the tank glass-edge and seemed to start talking(!). Edgar realized he was the only soul who could 'sense' Jaws was talking --- and talking to him and him alone! Edgar said, "You can talk, Jaws!" Edgar was witnessing some kind of animalia magic on that summer day at SeaWorld.

EDGAR: You can talk!
JAWS: You're the only one who knows this...
EDGAR: Maybe I'm dreaming this, Jaws.
JAWS: No, little man; I can talk (to you)!
EDGAR: my name is Edgar; I'm wondering what you want to tell me.
JAWS: Keep our chat a secret, Edgar, alright?
EDGAR: Sure, Jaws...
JAWS: I want you to do something for me.
EDGAR: What?
JAWS: Tell humans sharks need care just like any other Earth-dweller.
EDGAR: I'll become a 'shark-rights pupil.'
JAWS: Excellent, Edgar; I knew you had the 'right stuff.'
EDGAR: I won't forget this, Jaws; this was an amazing honor.
JAWS: Keep our meeting a secret; and help the ocean animals.
EDGAR: I'll be the 'right captain.'
