Little FingersA Poem by AbiThis was a short poem I wrote to be displayed at my local children's center.Mummy I know you get discouraged, Because I am so small, And always leave my fingerprints on
furniture and walls. You wish that I knew better, It drives you round the bend, Cleaning up my mess, It seems there is no end!
But listen to me mummy, The words I speak today, Because one day those fingerprints
will surely fade away.
For if you watch me closely, As I laugh and play, You’ll notice I am growing bigger
each and every day.
And one day in the future, When I am fully grown, You’ll realise that my fingerprints
made your house a home
So here’s a reminder mummy To help you to recall. Exactly how my fingers looked when I
was oh so small.
