If Darkness Should Befall...

If Darkness Should Befall...

A Poem by WelshWinds
"

About a zombie apocalypse...? This art project is getting to my head.

"
We'll dance by the sun,
When the earth crumbles down.
We'll be last ones alive,
When everything is dead all around.

We'll be everlasting,
Like the motion of the waves.
We'll run back,
Remembering the way from which we came.

If the darkness of the ill should befall,
Don't leave me to wither on my own...
I'll need someone to remember,
When its me the plague decides to own.

I can't make it alone,
For I am no where near strong.
You're my light that I look to,
When the darkness feels too long.

If I become a monster,
Only a shadow of what I once was before...
May you then leave me behind,
And go on looking for something more.

If I lose all my memories,
This sensation in my heart will stay the same.
I'll be confused to why it aches and yearns,
However, I'll be comforted by the pain.

If I become the darkness we flee from,
I promise to let you be my light.
I'll look to you in confused wonder,
Because I'll never truly forget what was forever mine.
