The Man from the Future

The Man from the Future

A Poem by Abibliophobe

She cries another girl's tears,
Washes away her feelings
With an endless tide
Of salt water.
Weeping for what should have been,
But never could be.
The drops fall endlessly,
Numbing the pain,
Freezing the hurt and the anguish,
Drowning the horror of what she has seen.

For what she has seen must remain unseen,
Unspoken, unsaid
For no one can know
What he did,
What she did.
What they did.
He said no one must ever know
And now he takes their secret
To the grave.
