Fight For Your DreamsA Poem by Abhishek RamFight for what you want instead of waiting. Fight for yourself and others! Bring what you want and fight to have them!I stand on a cloud above a world made of glass, Not jumping down for fear the glass will crack, And I will ruin this world, so I decide to look back, Before this world and I find myself on dirt and grass. I come back to where I am, living in a cruel construct, A cruel construct to which my world is connected by a small duct, A duct of synapses and nerve endings connecting one to another, Brought together but separated like sisters and brothers. I find myself stuck in two worlds, the tough and the fragile, Oh how I wish they were reversed! How I wish my dreams were tough, but reality in denial, Denial of its fragility, but alas, I am cursed, Oh how I wish my dreams were true! Instead, I live in a cruel and imperfect world, Destructed in a story that seems so rarely told, Oh how I wish my dream was real so life may be better, But instead, I write myself this letter. The letter to not give up. I must fight to not fall, I must live to stand tall, So my dream of glass may become tough, So that I may live in my dream while rooted in reality, And I see this with great clarity even though it's rough. But I settle with living in my dream in my dreams, And soon I may start to weave together the seams, The seams of the fabric of reality and that of a world of glass, Born of the vitrification from the fire that forged my mind, Forged by a divine hand that brings all humans to fight and not stay behind, So we fight for our desires brought by Him, and we wish to have what He has. The love and compassion to fight for what is right, And not be stuck in a cruel world as dark as the night.© 2015 Abhishek Ram |
