Love & HateA Poem by Abhishek RamThe universe revolves around these, so you will feel both. Why give in to only one and not the other though? The world revolves around universal feelings, Those that begin, end, and destroy issues, Those that have words in every human language, Those that every empathetic creature finds true, And the worst one of those is hate. Hate is a strong word, like how it is a strong feeling, A feeling that kills, rapes, and destroys humanity, And yet the feeling is unshakable, it leaves us all reeling, Of its intense power and sustainability,
How can something so destructive be so sustainable? This feeling makes people so different, and yet so capable, Of massive horror and tragedy, breeding more problems, So sustainable because it’s a cycle routed through many modems. To counter this, there is love: Another strong word, one that is not to be taken lightly, The feeling that weakens, and yet it also enboldens mightily, The opposite of hate, but such it can create, For love can go wrong from marriage to the first date. But hate can create love. Mutual hatred can make love for inhibitions can be lost, Argumentative platonic relationships can change to lust, It has happened before, it happens all the time, Represented by everyone, from politicians to mimes. These two most primordial forces in existence, The ones that make the universe balanced, Equal amounts, but that idea is on the fence, Because there is more hate now in the universal palace, Or so it seems… Love must exist somewhere else for there needs to be equilibrium, Hatred and love has to be equal in consortium, A sort of yin-yang will always be there, don’t be scared, For non-equilibrium is very rare. As a result, just because you receive hate doesn’t mean no one loves you, Hatred is but a notion created by the angry and the absolute screws, Love is what keeps us all going, God’s gift to the Devil’s actions, God and others love you, for God loves all his creations, So don’t be afraid to accept people’s love, it is real, It is not hatred in disguise breaking your trust’s seal, People love you, realize and don’t be afraid, Of what this beautiful emotion for you has made… A beautiful human being strong to the core, Loved by people behind every door. © 2015 Abhishek Ram |
