Entropy of Life

Entropy of Life

A Poem by Abhishek Ram
"

Entropy is natural in the environment: what may be once may not be the same soon after.

"

You ever feel like leftovers from a meal,
Thrown away by the people who used you for real?
They took so much of you, and then they just dumped you somewhere dark,
Obliging no help, no way out, leaving you with service marks.

These marks are proof of your servitude,
That was trivialized by those who betrayed,
Used you for everything, like a ticket for food,
Turned out to be different than what they portrayed?

Everyone encounters something like this,
People who you love who will treat you like piss,
But that's life, people change with great entropy,
Life is not clean nor dirty, after all, mostly soapy.

Watch, they come back, those who realized their wrong,
The good people who originally sang the heartbreaking song,
That told you that your efforts were in vain,
And that on their carpet of life, you were just a stain.

They'll ask for forgiveness, conscious of what they did,
That what they did was very sordid,
Those who don't come back never deserved you at all,
They will be scarred forever for making you take the fall.

To state more clearly, if you truly love something,
Let it go, and see if it comes back,
It may seem like a load of crap,
But soon they'll ask of you to sing the song of forgiving.

I dedicate this to all of us whom were screwed over,
By life, love, and friendship amongst other things,
Though it feels like you got run over by lawn mower,
The scars will fade and one day again, the birds will sing.
