Been said before, and It will mostly be said again, but it this is a truely good poem, I am honestly sorry for your loss, because I too have lost friends, both in the sense that we fell out, and also in the sense that they passed away... Best of luck to you Abhinav
Like what the others said before me, I'm sorry for your loss.
Loosing someone so close indeed hurts and you penned it so well. It's raw and is crying out to be explained. Somehow it made me want to learn what cruelity has befallen upon your friend and a whole lot more written between the lines. Although I am not in the righ position to do this, I believe your friend is lucky to have as much as you're lucky to have had him. :) True, no one can ever replace his place and the memories will forever be with you. I am sure though that your friend wants you to be happy. Live out the life you both shared and not deprive others of the goodness within you. For technicals, it's a bit scratchy. The way you cut your lines made it a bit clunky but for theatrical purposes, the pauses are great.
I've lost a friend too. She hasn't died but our friendship did. Not because of anger but because of time. We grew apart and I used to ache so much over the loss, blamed her for a while but then it hit me. It was no one's fault and if there's one way to remember what we've had, it was in remembering all the wonderful times we've had.
I loved it. It was a nice way of saying good-bye. One thing I noticed is that in the second stanza you switched from second person to third person, but that's easily fixed. Good job.
We need to keep good friends alive in our memory. A excellent poem. You told a very good story about your friends and the sadness was felt when we lose a special person in a life.
