Hope of Mine, For Us

Hope of Mine, For Us

A Poem by Abhigyan
"

A poem on my vision of earth of the future.

"

Standing alone on a hill

My wits became too much still

A voice in me said that

Let’s fly in this pure air flat

Then also I knew it that

Never could I fly so flat

So much serene was the place

That I had forgot to get my paper case

The place where I lived

Had no one whom I could believe

Shoutings, yellings and horns and all

Had made my ear bear ‘em after all

Still I had hope that one day

This place wouldn’t be like it is today

Greener healthier it will be then

The birds will coo and coo again

And clear water from heavens will rain

Men will be politer than ever

Such that noise will be here for never

Thinking so I went back home

Where my ears had to roam

To find a quiet and quieter place

Where stillness may have me in embrace

With hope against hope I say

To all my friends happy and gay

Plant a tree and I know

Earth will be a better place when we grow.
