Serendipity

Serendipity

A Poem by Ryan Abram
"

This is about a place I used to visit growing up, Lake Simcoe, and the ferry 'Serendipity' that sailed it daily. It's really just a recollection of memories, and a description of the past.

"
Serendipity in the distance,
Sail-
Simcoe sleeps a silent slumber
Oh, gentle chariot,
Whisk me away,
Far off-
Towards the halcyon skies of yesterday...
I'm dreaming.
Saddened willows caress the still,
As blue birds fly-
A reflection;
Echoes of a time
When life was dictated by nothing more
Than the constant flux of the stretching sun,
And the folding moon
But as if swept away briskly-
By tomorrow's Autumn breeze,
Such placidities, it seems,
Must always cease...
Serendipity on the soft waves, breathing,
Return-
To shores we've kissed before
