Sentiment's Passing

Sentiment's Passing

A Poem by Ryan Abram
"

Something I wrote when visiting the shores of my humble home for the last time. Might mean different things to different people.

"
As soft as the flux of these silken waves,
You float-
Carried upon ethereal wings, fine,
Gently drifting away...
All I can do is watch-
Anchored to these ancient, storied shores,
As you ascend into the empyrean,
An angel-
Oh, so divine,
Never to return to my callow eyes,
And think;
Is this where it all ends?
Before sweeping waves of lucent sea?
Beneath endless miles of silent sky,
As the eye of infinity shines down in witness?
Or is this where it all just begins?
