The Elocution DayA Poem by Abdur RaqeebStage Fright...... Something which we all have dealt with some moment in our lives.
The elocution day was a disaster I declare
I entered the hall with hope That stage fright is what I could cope. I took my seat according to the order And when I heard my competitors I started to get the jitters. My turn finally arrived I took the long walk to the stage Hoping that I wouldn't fail. My worst fears came true When I suddenly forgot my lines But tried in vain to remember them by signs. Then I started to feel dizzy I fainted and I cannot recall what happened next All I can remember is that I woke up to hear the doctor say that I needed some rest. I had succumbed to stage fright yet again The elocution was a disaster And fear is what I have to master.
