Journey through the centre of the City

Journey through the centre of the City

A Poem by Abdur Raqeeb
"

It is a remake of the widely renowned poem 'The Brook' composed by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The message of my poem is not the same though. It just describes the path of the stream through a metropolis.

"
The peels, the waste,
The people throw in haste.
Upon me as I travel,
Across the golden gravel.
Flowing through the city,
Finding people without pity.
Staring at them with annoyed eyes,
Hoping to hear their haunted cries.
I end up as a dump yard,
Here and there a golden shard.
I hate my life of late,
And hope to turn my fate.
But still I flow with pride,
Though I shed my hide,
I hope to get a good ride,
Even though its not on my side,
But still I continue my journey of LIFE!
