Change, Hope and Redemption

Change, Hope and Redemption

A Poem by Abby
"

Something that came off the top of my head in religion class.

"

Change.

The thunder of our heart.

The essence of our souls.

It craves longing

Yet is feared above all else.

Change.

A seed blown in the wind.

The mystery of all being.

It is always present

But strikes without warning.

Change.

Clinging to our lives.

Bearing the sorrows of our past.

Hearing every word we breathe

While leaving us broken.

Hope.

The feeling we live for.

The long-awaited release.

Always near us

But never found.

Hope.

The song of our senses.

The music of our mind.

Never tangible

And rarely felt.

Hope.

Through it we live.

The endless desperation.

Without it

Ours souls seem to tremble.

Redemption.

The liberating anger.

The sightless temptation.

What keeps us alive

Though our heartbreak.

Redemption.

The unending circle of fate.

A voice in the darkness.

On the verge of our minds

But never met.

Redemption.

The wandering spirit.

Drifting through the void.

An outcast of life

While through it we live.

Change.

Hope.

Redemption.

The voice that let’s us live.

The feeling that keeps us alive.

The words that make us one.
