Light's Illusion

Stars shine distantly in the night sky,

While the sun shines brightly in the day.

Can the glow of millions of stars

Make up for the light of one?

 

Are people the same? Can the goodness of one

Really make up for the wrongs of others?

Or do we just live in a world where light and dark are the same,

Mixing and blending into one another?

 

For light and darkness are illusions,

Created by those who fear the unknown.

Even in darkness some light shines through,

And even during the hardest of times there is some good waiting to find you.

 

Being brave enough to face the unknown is one thing.

Actually acting on this is another.

And the greatest feat of all this is the ability to face ourselves.

Without fear.

I really do agree with most of the questions you've asked. But, I'm having a hard time to accept the last part about being brave and without fear. I mean, only the brave one is foolish and only the ones who fear are inspirations, if you get my meaning?

On the other hand, it's still really good and I really did enjoyed it, so it's all good...

wow this is really good. there is A LOT of figurative language in this and there all good. also the theme comes across strong and clear. i should also take the theme of this to heart and actually learn from this. good poem!!! keep writing!!!

Bravo...This is excellent work that I find brilliant and flawless. The words roll of the tongue and and bring gentle imagery to the mind as well as emotions. A true piece of wisdom from an ancient soul that has spent an eternity searching for an answer that is so willingly shared. There is not one single line or stanza that I can say is my favorite.
