Stella Would You Take Me Home 003A Chapter by indiscreetisChapter three! Yay! Enjoy. c:Chapter 3 *Stella’s POV* Alex pulled up into the parking lot of IHOP, and I hopped out of the car, eagerly awaiting pancakes. “Someone’s hungry.” Alex said, opening the door for me, smiling. “I told you I was starving, did I not?” He chuckled and waited by my side until a hostess came and showed us to a booth. “Menus?” The woman asked. “Nah, we know what we want.” Alex said, denying the hard pieces of plastic. She smiled and told us that our waitress would be with us shortly. When she did walk up, though, I was trying super hard not to laugh. She had on way too much make up, and bright red lipstick. She had on this super low cut shirt that was really unappealing, and her hair was like a poodle. I saw Alex smirking, too. She turned toward him and said “What can I get for you to drink?” He looked over at me, “Stella what do you want?” “Orange Juice!” I called, smiling at him. She didn’t even glance at me; she kept her eyes on the prize. “Make that two Orange Juices, please.” She wrote it down, and went off into the back, obviously trying to shake her hips. When she was out of ear shot, I burst into laughter. “Hahaha! What a catch you got there, Alex!” He smiled back, and leaned into the table. “She kept licking her lips. It was so nasty.” I was out of breath from laughter. “Oh, lord. They’re always attracted to you like honey, huh?” I said, twisting my napkin in my lap. “What do you mean?” He asked, frowning slightly, like the thought displeased him. “Well, girls are always attracted to you, even the weird ones. I find it entertaining.” I said softly. I was lying. I didn’t find it entertaining. It pissed me off. All these girls could flirt freely with him, and I was restricted, and couldn’t because he was my best friend. “Eh, they just like me for my body.” He said in a hick accent, reminding me of Mater from the movie Cars. I laughed and shoved his shoulder. “You’re so cocky.” He gasped, and put his hand over his heart. “Me?! Never.” I was still laughing when the waitress brought us our drinks. “Are you ready to order?” She asked Alex, again. “Yeah, um, we’ll both have the smiley face pancakes, please.” He said. “Is that all?” She replied, dragging out the all. I suppressed a giggle, and she shifted nervously. “Yeah, I think that’s it.” And she turned and walked to the back, no longer swaying her hips. Finally, our pancakes arrived, and I couldn’t wait to douse them in multi-flavored syrups. Alex and I had the same idea apparently, and we both reached for the syrups, so our hands touched briefly. I looked up at him, blushed, and reached for a different flavor. “So, what else are we gonna do tonight?” Alex asked, shoving whipped creamy and syrup covered pancake in his mouth. I contemplated that. “Hmm, I don’t know, you always ask me, what do you wanna do?” He smiled, licking some sticky stuff off of his face. “Well, we could do multiple things. We could A: Call the guys and get wasted. B: Call the guys and not get wasted. Or C: Call the guys and get semi wasted. Make your decision. The clock is going.” He said, leaning on the table and humming that stupid tune when you’re being timed for something. I laughed at him and said. “Hmm, I wonder, A?” “Then A it is, my lady!” When we got home, Alex called Jack, Zack and Rian, and told them to come over, and to bring the liquor. When the boys arrived, the party began. I tried to text Cody to see if he wanted to come, but he didn’t answer, and when I called him, it went straight to voice mail. I was seriously getting worried that he was pissed off at me. I drowned my fears in whiskey and vodka with grape juice. An hour later, Jack was dancing on my table with a girl he invited with him, Rian was fist pumping to music that I couldn’t place over the noise, Zack was talking to another girl they strung along, and Alex had a beer in his hand and was talking to me, who had a mixture of things I didn’t know existed in a cup. I didn’t know what I was saying. “Where’s Cody? You asked him to come, right?” Alex slurred slightly. He wasn’t drinking like he normally did. He was drinking far less than expected, which was the unusual part. “He isn’t coming! Can you believe,” I hiccuped, “that? He hasn’t been answering my,” I took a sip of my concoction, “texts or phone calls.” I slurred tremendously. Alex cocked an eye brow. “That’s rude.” My eyes widened and I put my hand on his shoulder. “I KNOW! He’s making me so,” hiccup, “mad. I’m tired of him.” Alex’s eyes lit up. “Really?” *Alex’s POV* Dump Cody? YES! I had waited for that to happen in what seems like forever. He was such a d********g. I remember one time he told Stella that she wasn’t allowed to hug me. She told him “Stop being so f*****g jealous! He’s my best friend, and I will hug him as I please.” That was their first fight. He hated that I hung out with her so often. When I heard that come out of her mouth, I was so happy I could burst. Maybe I could finally have my chance with her. Maybe I could finally kiss her for real. Maybe…Well, maybe a lot of things could happen. And I couldn’t wait. “Yep! Tomorrow, I want to go to his apartment tomorrow and tell him that. We. Are. Through.” She said, slurring and hiccuping. It was adorable. “You know, you’re amazing Alex, really. I loooooove you!” She said, patting my shoulder and walking into the blur of people dancing. I looked after her. She said she loved me. That was all I could think about. It didn’t matter if she was in a drunken stupor, she still said it. That must mean that in some corner of her mind she felt something between us right? That corner may be dusty and unthoughtful for a while because Cody’s filled it with lies and bullshit, but maybe she’s remembering. Maybe…just maybe. The next morning, I woke up in Stella’s bed next to Jack. “Get up you oaf.” I said, pushing him over off of his back and onto his side. “What happened last night?” He asked, rubbing his head with his hands. “Well, I’m not soar anywhere so I don’t think anything too serious happened that I’m not aware of.” I said, chuckling slightly. Jack smiled, but couldn’t laugh due to his massive hangover he had from partying too hard the night before. “What about Becca? Did she leave?” He asked. “Nope! I’m in here.” A girl’s voice called from the bathroom with the door slightly ajar. Jack sighed with relief. “Whew. I thought I lost you.” He said, getting up out of the bed and walking into the bathroom. Stella. I needed to find her to make sure she didn’t hurt herself last night. I remember going to bed because all of the noise was killing me, but I don’t remember talking to her again after she walked off from our conversation about Cody. I rolled out of the bed, put my shirt on and went out into the kitchen/living room. Stella was sitting there on the counter, drinking a cup of coffee, and trying not to die of a killer headache, same as Jack. “Need some Advil or something? You look like you fell off of a cliff or something.” She smiled slightly and nodded her head. “Please.” She whispered hoarsely. I chuckled and went to the medicine cabinet where there seemed to be an infinite amount of headache relievers. “Here, don’t die, okay? That would suck major butt.” She smiled again and gladly took the tiny red pill from my hand. © 2011 indiscreetisAuthor's Note
