Stella Would You Take Me Home 001A Chapter by indiscreetisChapter one!
Chapter One
“Stella!” Alex pleaded. “I am in need of your services, woman!” I laughed as he tried to pull me away from the party, but my fingers were laced with Cody’s. “Hold on, man. She doesn’t answer to your every single call.” Cody said. I smacked him on his arm, while Alex glared at him. “I’ll be there in a second, ‘kay?” I told him, and he walked off over to the bar. Being 21 felt great, thank God I finally had my birthday. It’d only been a few months, but I was already abusing the freedom, but then Cody’s lips found mine and distracted me from my train of thought. When he pulled away, I smiled up at him. “What was that for?” I asked. He shrugged and said, “Nothing, I guess.” He stroked the necklace that hung around my neck and sat neatly above my chest. He gave it to me when we first started dating, and I wore it pretty much every day. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alex standing on a table, drinking a beer, and making out with some random girl. I rolled my eyes and looked back up at Cody. “Hey, I think I’m going to go ahead and go home, alright?” I told him, pushing up on my tip-toes to kiss him again. I tangled my hands in his hair and bit his lip, puling back slightly. “I love you.” I whispered. “I love you, too.” He said softly into my ear. I smiled at him one more time, and then left his arms to go drag Alex away from the booze. “Come on, butt head. I take it you lost your keys again?” He nodded, smirking. “And you’re spending the night, right?” I asked. Alex had been my best friend since third grade. On every weekend either I would spend the night with him in a tent, pretending to roast marshmallows in his living room, or he would spend the night in my bunk bed, telling me scary stories until I peed myself until twelfth grade. We were inseparable. “Of course I’m spending the night! Don’t you know me at all?” We pulled into my apartment complex, and we walked to the door. “You. Are such. A dweeb.” “Oh yeah? Well, you’re a Twat!” He retorted. “Touché.” I replied. I unlocked the door and sat on the sofa; turning on the T.V. Alex proceeded to lie on the couch as well, putting his head in my lap, and started to rub his forehead. “You want some Advil?” I asked. He nodded and I handed him the tiny pill from my purse and a water bottle from the table. He gladly took it. “Did you party too hard tonight?” I asked, toying with his hair as I flipped through channels. “Sister, I always party too hard!” He said, laughing. “Well, brother, I’m sorry your head hurts.” “S’okay. It’ll be better soon. OH! OH! OH! Put on Jersey Shore! DO IT!” He called out. This was our favorite show like, ever. We loved laughing at Snooki, who falls on beeches, dances on a boardwalk, and sucks on a pickle. You know. “Yes! It’s the new one!” I exclaimed, fist pumping the air. I looked at the time. Only ten? Huh. “I’m ordering Chinese, you want some?” “Oh yeah.” I called the Chinese Place down the way and placed an order for two. “Okay, two egg rolls, orange chicken with white rice, and egg drop soup. Also, sesame chicken with dumplings and white rice as well.” “Hokay, we bring soon. Sanku!” When I hung up the phone, Alex and I looked at each other. “He said ‘sanku’ didn’t he?” “Every time.” “Thanks, bro. Keep the change.” I heard Alex say to the delivery boy, who talked normally. “Bring me my food!” I yelled. “Fatty.” “You know it!” While we were sitting and eating, Alex asked me a question. “Hey Stella? Why are you dating such an a*s?” I sighed. “He’s not an a*s to me, he’s just jealous of you.” I replied. “Jealous? Of me? Why?” “Because you’re my best friend, and I hang out with you a lot. Don’t take it too personal.” I tried to reason with him. “Well…Tell him he doesn’t need to be so jealous.” I heard him mutter under his breath. “Aye, Aye, Captain.” My phone vibrated with a text from Cody. “I love you, goodnight. I had fun, I want more kisses like that last one ( ;” I texted back saying I love you too, and that he’d get them if he was good, and another winky face. I looked over at Alex, who was watching the T.V., and remembered all the things we’ve done together, all the times I’ve wanted so much more than just friends, but went out with other guys for a distraction. That’s what Cody was at first, but I really fell for him, so I didn’t let him go. Actually, Alex was my first kiss, and I was his. We decided that it would be easier to do the first one with a friend so it wouldn’t be so nerve racking. And even for his first kiss, he was amazing. It was probably the best kiss of my life… It happened in the 8th grade, towards the end of the year. “Stella, it’ll be fine, I promise.” He said, rolling his eyes. “Okay, fine, let’s just get this over with.” I said, sighing. Alex started to lean in, and my breath caught. I was trying to act like I didn’t really want this to happen, but I really, really did. Then, his lips were pressed softly to mine, and his breath was in my mouth. His hand was on my neck, in between my shoulder and my chin, and I could have sworn I heard him moan almost in audibly, and caress my neck. When he pulled away, I was still breathless and probably wide-eyed. He dropped his hand, and cleared his throat. “See, no big deal.” He scratched his head, and stood up from the bench, and held his hand out to help me up. It wasn’t the best kiss of my life because of intensity, but because it was simple and sweet. That’s what I loved the most about Alex, was he could make me feel so….so weightless without even trying to. “Stella? You okay?” Alex asked, looking concerned. “What? Oh, yeah, I’m fine. Hey, I’m going to go to bed, your little nest thing is still on the floor, just come on in when you’re ready.” I told him, getting up and trudging to my door, scratching my head. I sat on my bed and put my head in my hands. Thinking of Alex that way again got me all confused. Cody really was a d********g to him, all the time. I sighed and started undressing. I had taken off my shirt, and my jeans were halfway off, when f*****g Alex decides to burst through the door without warning. “Stella, can-Op. Oops. Uhm, wow.” “Stop staring!” I yelled/laughed, throwing a pillow at him. “Okay, okay. I’ll wait.” He said, closing the door. I finished getting undressed and redressed into my tank top, shorts, and glasses. “Okay, Alex, you can come in.” I said, putting my hair into a messy bun. “Finally. So, I was going to ask if I could use your bathroom and take a shower.” “Yes. You can. Jeeze." He laughed and went into my bathroom. “What a dork.” I said. “I heard that, noob!” He called from the bathroom. I sat on my bed again, reading my book, and listening to Alex sing in the shower. He was singing to the radio, that song that’s like “Take me home tonight; I don’t wanna let you go till we see the light.” I loved that song, so I sang along to him and he radio. When he came out of the shower, I nearly died. He was in his red basketball shorts, and ONLY his red basketball shorts, his hair was dripping wet, and he had a beanie on. Dear God. “Hey, you look really tired, get some sleep.” He was acting like he hadn’t just seen me in a bra with my jeans half off. “Yeah, I am. Thinking too much, I guess.” He sat Indian style on my bed in front of me. “Thinking about what?” He asked. I smiled at him. “Nothing, it’s not important. Go to sleep, moron.” I instructed, curling up on my bed, and Alex curled up on the floor. © 2011 indiscreetisAuthor's Note
