ShadowsA Poem by Abby JohnsonI feel him. Next to me, As we lie in bed. He breathes in, I breath out. Always in perfect harmony, Creating a song within the room. His arm is around me, My head on his chest. The moon casts shadows around the room, Letting us guess what they look like. His skin is warm, His breath is heavy. We both stay awake as long as we can. Morning sun mans he has to leave. We both dread the moment, But don't speak of it. We live for now. We live for the moments we have, The kisses, Hugs, The love. We breath in harmony still, And soon we surrender to the sweet slumber, Trapped in our own perfect world. With the shadows.
