Sunlight.A Poem by Abby JohnsonLife.
You know those moments in life?
The ones where everything is so inexplicably perfect, Wonderful, Great. It all just seems to fall together. But then out of nowhere, It's all whipped away. Like walking to the pool on a hot summer day, Then there be a horrendous storm, And no matter which way you run You are always there, Just out of reach of safety. No where to run, To hide, There's not even any time to cry, Because you're fighting against the rain, sleet, snow, Whatever it may be. You're getting stronger with every step. Then they come along. Come one, you know who. The one perfect being, who makes it go away. Your umbrella, your rock, your everything. Then you feel the drops. The holes, the leak. You can't escape it. And finally it's a downpour again. And you're left to get soaked again, And fight against the storm, With the hope that one day, Some day, You'll reach the sunlight again.
