All The Smae

All The Smae

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

All The Same

Already;
scratching for a secret,
she pulls hair out
by the ends.

Self-examination
in a semiconscious state,
reeling in the enormity
of the empathy
she does not find.

Twisting
counterclockwise.

She knows how to hurt people,
she knows how to hurt herself,
as if there were a difference.

All the same in milk.

And so what
if it really doesn’t matter,
she thinks it does.

Everything does.

She disappears again
down the hole,
never looking back
or wanting too.

Breaking at the bottom
and learning to breathe.
