looking to the Left

looking to the Left

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Looking to the Left

Waiting for resolution
doesn’t really “cut it”
for this girl,
instant gratification,
now that’s something
I can sink my teeth in.

Staggering through scenarios,
that ever-present feeling,
goose-bumps
or a shiver in the cold.

It’s all Daisies.

Setting aside what I want
for what I need,
putting away the milk
or sitting in it.

It could be bollocks
for all I know,
or all I don’t know.

More the point.

But I can hope,
I’m good at that
I think.

And I made this bed anyway.

Anyway…

I know I’ll be shaking
when I knock on her door.
