A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Stem

Spitting out syllables
machinegun style,
fighting the compulsion
to put “them” in “their” place.

A girl can only
take so much.

Or a woman.

Nor a woman.

I get light in the head,
right in the head,
falling down dizzy drunk
when confronted,
not the best way
to deal with problems.

Not the worst.

“it is what it is.”

“it is what it is?”

Bugger off!
