Visible Friend

Visible Friend

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Visible Friend

Under control,
at least pretending to be,
steadfast in my insecurities.

She makes me shake a little,
smirk a little,
shiver.

Branded in colors
and shapes;
a piercing here,
a tattoo there.

The trepidation in her smile
a thought process possessed,
I wonder what she thinks about
at night.

When I’m not there.

But want too be.

Wrapped loosely in linens,
falling back
in soft skin.

It’s a dream I have often
even when
my eyes open.

Seeing;
she was never there
in the first place.

And that
I can’t understand.
