Gone Missing

Gone Missing

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Gone Missing

It’s not the needle
that does the damage,
the pain
is just a symptom
of her problem.

The realization of life,
“she,” could have had it all.

If not for that
certain little something,
rattling around her head
like a broken walnut.

It is what she doesn’t want to believe,
but knows.

The truth.

Bleeding out life
into snapdragons
and dandelions.

Sitting in the dirt
with the plunger down.

All the way.

oh the fluid lady sucks all hope into the body plastic even as it gives false heaven to the streaming blood in clots of beautiful agony~
vivid~mesmerizing~ desperately painful to bear witness to such heartbreaking fall presented in such a stunning beautiful vein~
