Wine PartyA Poem by Abigale LeCavalierWine Party
The act of being in altered states, making dry desert sand, into salty ocean waves.
Pulling open my lashes to let the sun in more frequently; most frustrating and irrelevant.
I’ve been holding my lip gloss for hours, not wanting to move my hands and lose this illusion.
Or reality.
And the party behind me rages with laughter and wine, cigarette smoke and the wet slobbering of new love.
I bet they don’t see the world like I see it.
And I’m not sure if its angry.
Just apathetic. © 2010 Abigale LeCavalier |
