Taste of Shadow

Taste of Shadow

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Taste of Shadow

Unlike other beginnings,

it was in the taste

of a shadow

that I found meaning.

The coarse feeling

of a working mans hands,

the longing for touch,

and the response

of skin.

I dream in circles

beyond my comprehension;

twirling with red ribbon

like little girls do.

And the movement

in the dark,

accompanied by compassion.

It’s where I found

a heart,

and the warmth of blood.

Now gone.

I sit naked,

surrounded by broken glass,

with no obvious way out.

And I know,

I could have done it better.

This flowed easily and beautifully.
I love this stanza the most......

(I dream in circles

beyond my comprehension;

twirling with red ribbon

like little girls do.)

Sweet ink....
