Breath

Breath

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Breath

An introduction;

almost as good as

asphyxiation.

It’s the air that escapes

with a hum or a hiss,

a whistle through

the teeth,

or lack there of.

All the polish

and cherry flavored gloss

wont hide

the scotch swallowed

moments ago.

Even worse,

a cigarette.

They're not blind

to the plight.

Just choose to ignore it.

Slipping down into

a comfortable seat;

it is no longer possible

to stand.

Leaving breath behind,

and identity.

Halitosis is much worse than whisky flavoured exhalations or the smell of smoke.You are free to choose who you will close to face to face.
I enjoyed your stream of thought
