Plaid

Plaid

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Plaid

It's as hard to believe

as a freshman on campus,

bells and whistles

and bubble gum.

An afterthought

from the smoke of

a freshly lit cigarette,

daunting.

Absolutely absurd.

Fact turns fiction

in a ball of twine.

A forced proverb or two.

The mass execution

of ideals on a whim,

and the taking of

someone else's prescription.

Trading plaid pants

for a schoolgirls skirt.
