A Poem For Elle

A Poem For Elle

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

She floats through my eyes
like butterflies do,
turning up the corners
passing a smile.

I am warm
in the middle
of her life,
as she is the anchor
that holds me down,
centered.

Siting on the floor
sipping wine,
she invites me over
to hold her hand.

I brought her a sunflower
and a bucket of milk,
passing time
creatively;
as if
there were any other way.

And we have happy moments
when we forget
about the past,
pushing the pain
out of her bedroom window.

And I fall asleep before she does,
always, every single time.

I wonder what she sees in
those moments,
I wonder if she smiles.

I wonder if she smiles.

~~ exquisite writing... ~~ you're a very skilled and very sensitive poet... ~~ you give the reader a glimpse of the atmosphere that inspired this poem... ~~ it's like living the moment before the poem was written... maybe when the poet wasn't even thinking of writing it... but just living life poetically...

You are shaping that irresistible block of marble into a thing superlative, dear poet.
