Death of a Salesman

Death of a Salesman

A Poem by Dig a Pony
"

I've been writing a lot during Theatre lately...this is one of the end products

"
Indifference, she says she needs some time to sink before she can swim
Accidents, he drowned in a pool of happenstance when the light became dim
What to do, I snapped a string in my piano while writing you a symphony
In the hall, a decent hat hangs waiting to be worn by someone that's not me

Happenstance of the day will fill tomorrow's headlines, but I'm not looking for a cover story.
I'm just awiting on the waiter who waited on me to bring me some tea

Indifference, the cat's in the cradle sleeping with a canary
Accidents, the lawyer shot my waiter and I never got my tea
What to do, midnight strikes the clock to three, new dance steps
In the hall, awaits a foreign mail carrier in your new satin dress

Happenstance of tomorrow making headlines today
I'm not a sailor; I'm just waiting on my cover story
Find a new waiter; I'm still waiting for my tea

Accidents, I hope the lawyer has a good lawyer
