Most valuable lessonA Story by Abbas7A story that changes the whole perspective of thinking. A must-read storyWell sometimes memories don't come back as they should sometimes we forget the things we cherish the most, but some memories stay and never leave. A reminiscence that will never leave my side .when I was still in my 5 grade in Sargodha I was sitting on the 3rd bench from the start it didn't have many friends as I was new in school it was a cloudy day with the wind gushing across the corridor, unusually the school was silent and gloomy on that day. I can still remember the smell of snacks from the canteen. dry leaves from the maple tree making harmonious and rhythmic sounds I could still remember my teachers hand moving to write on the whiteboard and the marker moving and making shrieking sounds I could hear someone coming from the other end of the corridor with heavy footsteps anticipating that it would be attendant that he would come to say "someone from abbas' home is here and he has to go" Alas! it turned out to be a wild fantasy of mine it was the coordinator who came inside the class for a moment she looked into my eyes and then after a moment she broke the silence that one of your class fellows is in the hospital because he got burnt while lighting a gas heater. we all looked toward each other with shock I could still the lips of the senior teacher murmuring when she told the kids name. I was more shocked than before because the kid who got burnt was the one whom I made fun of the other day and after a while, the coordinator asked that who was his best friend he was a new kid in class so no one really liked him but unconsciously I raised my hand, The teachers asked me a few questions related to him and then they left after that school started to look like more of a jail I wanted to cry as hard could and wanted to tell him how sorry I was. When he came after a month I had a tear in my eyes and I stood still when he walked past me. it was like I was a stone statue. I was never good at expressing my feelings, so without saying anything offered him the best toy I had it was a superman action figure. he looked me in my eye and said "I know what you are trying to say and you have said enough" A gush of sorrow and fear passed through me and I told him how much I missed and how much sorry I was, and hardly any night was passed when I didn't think of him but up to my surprise. He forgave me on the spot when I made fun of him He taught me the most valuable lesson of my entire life without uttering a single word, that is to forgive a person who isn't even sorry is the greatest virtue
