The Road

The Road

A Poem by Aaron McClarnon
"

Just something a little more upbeat :)

"

The end is nothing, the road is all. The road stretches for eons, with no signs of stopping. Many events lay on the wayside of this road. The birth of a baby, a new war, the death an old man with cancer. All these events will try to deter you from your own road, but you must continue to follow the pavement an never look back.

Regrets are everywhere on this path. They litter it like roadkill. A harsh word said, a lost friend or feeling left unspoken, it all becomes regrets. But the meaning of the road is to walk it with no regrets or past sorrows. Live for the now an walk towards the future. For if you march with your head high, then the end won't matter. The road is unforgiving and cruel, but happiness ca still be found just beneath the pavement.

The end is only a phrase. It means nothing. Nothing ever ends. It can only pause and start again.
