The Fog

The Fog

A Poem by A_Hancuff
"

A false hope leading a man astray from all he knows.

"
The fog, the fog, it’s all I see

The fog, the fog, it surrounds, confines me

A single path I walk alone

Straight and narrow its all I’ve known

From birth until the day I die

I walk forever but know not why

A light, a flicker, to the left

A beam of fire from the west

They say curiosity killed a cat

But I must know where this light is at

I walk, I wander from my path

Into the darkness myself i cast

Hours and hours toward the light

Step by step, day by night
The light flickers, flares, then goes out

Stranded and scared i scream and shout

“Oh light oh light please come back,

Oh light oh light where am I at?”

No light, no path, just the fog

And faint memories only time can jog
