Beauty QueenA Poem by JoyiThis is actually some song lyrics I wrote. I think I've been in a slump when its come to writing. Every time I write, I feel so incomplete. It is as if there's something missing. I haven't ever writtVERSE 1 I flew way too close to the sun, Not wanting to talk to anyone, Hoping I can just run away.
The bright lights from yesterday, Continue to pulse in my brain, Like a never ending strain I can't explain.
PRE CHORUS The American Dream courses through my head, A hymn I dream about in bed. But yet I am so far away. Nothing gold can stay
CHORUS And every time I close my eyes It's me I see in her disguise. Blonde hair and blue eyes, A Barbie doll fully realized.
VERSE 2 The seconds pass by so slowly, Like fragments of my memory. The mirror is covered up in steam, The bathroom floor so far from clean, The consequence of being just sixteen.
A smile painted upon my face, Cheeks so pink they could be fake. I hoped it'd make me feel so good.
BRIDGE? I want to feel new and be so clean Just need another dose of Maybelline. I want to be eighteen, So I can be that American beauty queen.
CHORUS And every time I close my eyes It's me I see in her disguise Blonde hair and bright blue eyes, A Barbie doll fully realized
OUTRO A Barbie doll fully realized. A Barbie doll fully realized.
