I can stay AloneA Poem by AWickedMoon
I can stay alone.
I can watch you walk away, I can hold my fears and my tears back. I will plaster on a smile if only to be with you for a little while. I never understood, what it meant to love. But in trying to escape it, I fell prey. For I did not think myself capable of such a concept. I should have believed harder in its falseness. For now I have fallen my wings torn and tattered. I escaped the capture of his mind. And fallen bloody heart into your hands. I have lost it once again, I have loved to much an broke that which had loved me. Maybe you could love me once more, lingers in my mind a bone I cannot reach. Temptation on my mind. Your scent fills my mind, as I imagine your skin pressing upon mine. The passion that you once gave, and I gladly drank. But I am left with an empty cup full of woe. And I seem to become but just a shell, forever lost in mind. © 2014 AWickedMoonAuthor's Note
