Phoenix and Fire.A Poem by AWickedMoon
Phoenix and fire.
I slipped on the ledge and you let me go. My life spent on you, your loyalty already gone. I fell to the world unknowing. I clawed at the stones, looking for my footing. But the air was so thin, I was dying as I was living. I cried out for help but you were no where to be seen. And he took my hand. He pulled me out of the ash and dusted me off. Never a question, never a reason. He took me an showed me the world, like you never had. How beautiful it was even in his own pain. How I had seen before. He took off the filter you had placed on my eyes. Where you saw darkness he saw light. And my whole body burned with a need to fight, I let you go the years wasted of my life. I looked around and saw the amazing people you just let slip through your fingers. You did to them as you did to me. I hope you find peace in your loneliness. From ashes and dust, I am now Phoenix and fire. © 2013 AWickedMoonReviews
