Chapter Nine- Mother

“Xantara….Xantara...”  A voice spoke softly.  X slowly opened her eyes to see a face full of tall grass.  “Xantara?  Where are you?”  The soft voice spoke out again.  Xantara let out a gasp as she tried to get up and clutched her stomach.  Pushing herself off the ground she took two steps forward and almost ran right in to someone.  A woman grabbed her arms to steady her as she raised her hands up her sleeves fell down revealing tan skin with little lights as if tiny stars were formed on her body.

“Oh Xantara what have you down now…” The woman said realizing her injures.  “Isis?” X looked up with her eyes still blazing.  “Child you must calm down…” she said pressing a finger to X’s forehead.  “Sleep” she spoke and X fell softly to the ground.  “Asim.” She spoke.

“Yes Isis.” a man wearing a long black cloak faded up and bowed.

“Take her to the temple and call for Imhotep.” Isis replied.

“Yes Isis.”  He said before gentle picking up X.

Isis followed him to the temple and waited by her side.  A few minutes later a bald man wearing a white pleated kilt, papyrus sandals and a sash over his chest walked in with a small boy walking behind him.  “Isis what is wrong?” he said calmly but with a flicker of concern in his eyes.

Do not worry Imhotep, it is Xantara that is injured and she shall heal.  But I need to speak to her soon.”

“I see” Imhotep said walking up beside X.  “Ahi remove the linins.”  He commanded.  The boy walked up and carefully opens a small sack and pulled out a small dagger, he quickly cut her shirt from just below her breasts.  Imhotep walked up and looked at her torso that had a large black and purple bruise.  He placed a hand on X’s stomach and it flinched causing X to grimace, yet she was still asleep.

“You have placed her under a spell?”  He looked up at Isis.  “Yes she was…un able to calm down.” Isis replied.  Imhotep continued.  “She has broken a rib; it seems to have punched her lung as well.  She has taken a lot of hits that could have been easily avoided especially by someone of her…lineage.  There is not much that I can do to help her heal faster but I will do all I can and I can help with the pain.”

“What will you need?” Isis asked.

“I will need honey; poppy and willow bark a bowl and a smooth clean rock.”

After Isis called for Asim and he delivered the items.  Imhotep placed the poppy and willow bark into a wooden bowl and started to crush them together using the rock.  When he was finished he took the honey and placed it on the little cuts X had on her face and arms.  When he had finished this as well he walked to the end of the stone bed

“Goddess of healing help me to cure, send her your strength so she may heal.”

“Goddess of healing help me to cure, send her your strength so she may heal.”

”Sekhmet, goddess of healing grant your powers unto Xantara so that she may heal quickly”

As he finished his last words a dark mist appeared.  The room started to smell like fire and the mist took the shape of a woman.  She was tall, her skin was dark.  Trails of red and gold were tattooed on her skin in intricate designs. She was wearing a red dress held up by thin straps, and held a sceptre made of papyrus.  On her face she wore a mask of a lion.

Where is she?!”  The woman’s voice dripped with malice. She whipped her head around; spotting Xantara put a finger to Imhotep and flung him out of her way.  She walked up to X and examined.  “What have you done to her!” she lashed out at Isis.  Her green eyes seemed to dance with flames.  “Sekhmet!  We have done nothing but heal her; she was like this when she came.”

Sekhmet placed her hand over X’s bruise.

I give you some of my strength so that you may heal” She said. Walking back over to Isis she demanded.  “Explain!  Why is she in Skyworld and in your temple injured, no mortal could have given here this much damage.”

“We have not done anything my Sekhmet; I called her to me as I heard that she has news of my son.  But when she arrived she was injured.  I called for Imhotep for assistants.”

“Why was it not I that you called!  My power of healing is outmatched.” Sekhmet growled and paced around Isis.

I didn’t wish to disturb you, and I needed to know of my son.”  Isis said looking at X wistfully.

“Fine you shall have your news.”  Sekhmet said irritated and snapped her fingers.

X‘s eyes fluttered open and she quickly rolled of the stone bed.  When she hit the ground she started hacking up a puddle of blood.  Looking up between a very pissed off looking Sekhmet and a calm but impatient Isis.  “Wow how many nightmares can I have in one night?” She asked sarcastically.  “Xantara!  Explain how you are so injured.”  X slowly sat up and leaned against the stone table. Well this is going to be fun she thought.  “Well, this mortal walked in to a bar.”  X said a smile playing on her face.  “Enough!”  Sekhmet said walking up to X.

“You will tell Isis the information she needs; it pains me to see one of my creations to allow so many hits from the mortals.” Finishing she outstretched her hand and one nail grew to a claw.  I line of blood ran down X’s face.  “What did you need to know?”  X directed at Isis well painfully standing up.

“My son…have you found him?” Isis asked.

“Yes, we believe we have in a young boy that goes by Sahen.” X said.

“Then has not been returned to his form?”  Isis asked.

“I am afraid so…but we shall have him back soon.”  X promised.

“This is all you need to know?” Sekhmet hissed at Isis.

“Yes Sekhmet it will do.”  Isis said before leaving the room with Imhotep behind her.

“You Xantara, you have shown me weakness.  You will learn from your mistakes.”  Sekhmet snarled at X before ejecting claws from her hand again and plunging them into her stomach.  Now return to your mission!”  Before X could even cough she vanished.

“Hey are you ok?”  Sahen ask X who was looked like she was starting to stir.  She quickly sat up in the bed.  Grabbing her stomaching she started to through up blood.  Getting out of bed she tried to stumbled over to door.  “Saf…Sapphire…”  She mumbled between the bloody coughing fits.

“Whoa, whoa!  Hold on you should stay in bed.”  Sahen ran up and grabbed her around the stomach but pulled his hand back when he felt something hot and sticky.  “Blood?”  He said looking at his hand.  “Come sit back down.” He said.  “Guys I need help in here!” He yelled.  The first one in was Gawain.  “What is going on? “  He asked.  “I don’t know but she’s bleeding badly.”  Sahen replied.

“Is everything alright?  I thought I heard something.”  Sapphire said looking in the door.  One look at Sapphire and X ran over to her and checked her to make sure she was ok.  “X…your awake.  How was…”  By her voice trailed away as her eyes landed on the boys.  “Um…how was your sleep?”  She asked instead.  Sahen and Gawain exchanged a puzzled look.

“Interesting…” X said before falling to one knee in a grunt of pain.  “X!  You should get back in bed!  Grabbing her waist she tried to left X um only to flinch at the blood like Sahen.  “In the name of Ra!  What happened?!”  She said looking accusingly at Sahen and Gawain.  “She was like that when she woke up.”  Sahen said.  X got up quickly then started to fall back down but Sapphire caught her.  She motioned for Sahen and Gawain to help her.

A few minutes later X was back on the bed.  “Want to tell me what happened?”  She asked X.  “Surprise visit from mom…”  She mumbled before closing her eyes.  “Oh s**t…Quick go get Jenkins!”  Sapphire yelled at Gawain and he took off down the stair well.

“Is she going to be alright?”  Sahen asked.  Sapphire looked up and was surprised to see the amount of concern in his eyes.  “Don’t worry she’s a lot stronger then you think.”  Sapphire answered calmly.  Strong enough to survive any hit…other then one of her mother’s. She thought to herself.

Again, more commas, and less grammar errors. The only other thing I'd change about it, is the profanity, I don't really agree with profanity. Great job again! :) :) :) :) :) ;)
